PROPHET LUKAS M.M
Prophet Lukas M.M was born in a village called Omatunda in the Ohangwena Region. His Childhood was not easy at all, at 6 months he nearly died when the room he was sleeping in, caught fire from nowhere according to his brother and grandparents there was a gas cylinder and gun bullets which caused the fire and burnt everything except the baby boy Lukas who was fast asleep. He lost his father when he was 5 years old. At 6 years old, he drank 1 litre of a poisonous drink which nearly took his life. His mother lost hope completely as she watched her youngest son nearly lose his life.
By God’s grace, he recovered from the incident and fell into yet another dilemma, whereby a poisonous scorpion stung him on his leg and he became paralyzed. The Lord put the devil to shame once again as he received his healing. His ministry began at a very young age as the Lord would show him various visions. He recalls preaching and praying for his mother when she fell sick and unfortunately passed on to glory when he was only 10 years old.
After his mother’s death, him and his brother’s faced heart breaking rejection from his family which resulted in him migrating to Tsumeb at age 14. At the age of 16, an Angel appeared to him and told him that he needs to become born again, however he refused. Just a few days later, the Spirit of God arrested him and spoke saying: “My son it is time for you to stand up and do my work”!
Afterwards, God directed him to the person who led him to Christ followed by him serving as an usher until the Lord spoke to him to begin The Joy of Salvation Ministry, the place we all call home today. The man of God continues his journey encouraged by 1 Samuel 15:22 “Obedience is better than sacrifice”.
When you find yourself in the pool of mistakes, do not run from God but run to Him for He loves and cares about you.

My immense love for the natural world made me want to devote my life to conservation from an early age. My MSc in Tourism, Society, and Environment in the Netherlands grew my passion for the role sustainable tourism can take in conservation. As an avid traveler, I understand why exploring the unknown can be so enriching for many of us and I hope future generations can still enjoy traveling. I am originally from the Netherlands, and arrived in Namibia in 2016. It appeared the ultimate country to learn what successful conservation is about.
I could not have found a better organisation than TOSCO to involve tourism in the conservation equation. I joined TOSCO in 2019, initially coordinating the Desert Lion Program, and then became manager in 2020. Apart from that, I am involved in the Wildlife Credits program on behalf of TOSCO, partnering with WWF Namibia and CCFN. Through TOSCO and working with rural communities and other conservation partners, I really got to understand what successful conservation is about. I am very excited to grow TOSCO further with the team, broadening the connection between tourism and conservation by getting more of the tourism industry to join our movement, and deepening this connection by making conservation an integral part of tourism and the travel experience. I believe TOSCO with its team and programs can make a real difference!
